For the preliminary task we have been asked to plan and produce a two minute short film on any genre we choose. We have to have a character walk in and sit down in a room and then have dialogue during or after that.
Our film will be a spoof genre and the storyline is to have a woman being followed by a man in a hoody down a hallway. Then have the woman run into a room frightened and sitdown and ask what the man wants. The man will say the line “You dropped your phone”. Our reaction we aim to achieve from our audience is to have them intrigued but frightened at the start and then at the end of to film they should feel a sense of relief and find it humourous.

A spoof film??
Now for our preliminary task we have to create a two minute short film. Me (Sophie Skinner), Alex Jermy and Robbie Khun originally chose to create a thriller film but then changed it to a “spoof” film/ parody film.
The genre spoof is a spooky/thriller but combined with comedy, the aim for a spoof genre is generally to make the audience laugh after feeling tense or scared. We want to use this genre instead of a thriller because horrors and thrillers are very common genres to select and we feel we might do a horror later on. Also I want to do a “spoof” film because it would be a challange for me as I am not experienced with comedy.
Elements from “Spoof” genre we will and not use:
We will use a line to break into comedy in the end
We will not use funny or ridiculous costumes to create the comedy, we will just have low key, casual costumes that people wear everyday to seem realistic.

Through out this course I will hopefully expand my knowledge on media and how the technology works, I did BTEC media previously when studying my GCSE’s and thought I should expand my knowledge and learn new skills in the media industry. I will be creating certain tasks, our first task is a short 2 minute film on any genre of our choice. I will show all my planning used in the process of making these films. There may be a few difficulties among filming, but it’s best to have errors to learn from them.
